User Experience

WE CREATE VISUAL SYSTEMS

When it comes to designing for user experience, we use an overall brand as a strong foundation for creating the visual methodology that guides a user through a website, app or physical space. We base our decisions on anecdotal evidence as well as up-to-date research about the standards and best practices in the industry. Our technique produces a system of unified, brand-based, visual elements to maintain consistent expectations for users through the use of color, iconography and interaction, all of which match the impression of other brand experiences.

BRANDING

For Chroma.Fund we created brand guidelines and applied them to the design of Chroma’s web app, which allowed users to invest in small local businesses. The design included data visualization, design of back-end systems, a system of icons and other assets, and design and strategy for interactive elements.

INTERACTIVITY

For Scopic, we strategized and designed an experience for both front-end and back-end users. We used brand elements as indicators and descriptors in Scopic’s distinct visual language. We took advantage of evolving development capabilities, allowing users to more intuitively interact with the Scopic web app in a unique way.

SCALABILITY

We take Scalability beyond simple responsiveness. For Topaz, we designed complementary browser-based and mobile experiences, taking into account the changes in a user’s behavior between devices.

EXPERIENTIAL

In the 20x20ft installation above, called “#nofilter,” we used a subtle application of technology to enrich the viewer’s experience. Using invisible QR codes embedded in each image, viewers could walk through and interact with the exhibit by scanning the images to read messages on their devices.

For OSU's Student Experience Center we created place-making graphics and wayfinding systems for the physical space. We mapped a user’s path and determined where points of interaction are necessary, making sure our work is as functional as it is beautiful.
